Swaleview
is situated on the banks of the River Swale, just two and a half miles from the historic market town of Richmond. The area is ideal for walking, driving or cycling around the Dales. Here you can spend long, lazy days simply fishing and enjoying the incredible peace and tranquility of the area.

Superb country pubs and
restaurants too are all within easy reach of our park.

The site has good all-weather roadways and is surrounded by woodland and is set in open countryside; so that you wake to nothing more than breathtaking views and nature at her resplendent best.


The setting, facilities and attractions of the surrounding area are sure to bring you back time and again to enjoy a break from routine. Our facilities include wonderful play areas for children, fully equipped laundry, games room and excellent washroom with disabled facilities.

Richmond is situated approximately 5 miles from Scotch Corner. From Scotch Corner follow the A1608 towards Richmond. When you arrive at Richmond continue on the A6108 towards Reeth/Leyburn for approximately 2.5 miles. After 2.5 miles the site is situated on the right hand side and is well sign posted.


Located on a level field close to all
the facilities, the touring park has
good all-weather roadways and is surrounded by beautiful woodland.
The park is spacious and is close to
the main entrance for easy access
on and off the park. Mains electricity connection (16amp) and water
points are situated throughout.
Motor homes are also welcome to
be used in the touring park.

Toilets and Washrooms with hot and cold showers. Including hair dryer sockets in Ladies Toilets and shaver sockets in Gents Toilets.

The toilet and washroom facility is located close to both the Static and Touring areas of the park and includes a laundry with washer and dryer. A disabled toilet is also available for guests who have special needs. The disabled toilet combines both toilet and washrooms which are spacious and well equipped,. located close to the centre of the park.

The Children's Play Area is located well away from roadways and is fully fenced. The Play Area has ample space for children to play and has good play equipment.

We are a small friendly park with outstanding views of the surrounding fells and dales.

Situated at the head of Wensleydale in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, only1/4 Mile out of Hawes, we are in an area popular with visitors who wish to get away from it all, and within easy walking distance of the town. The area is ideal for walking, fishing, touring the National Park or visiting the local attractions.

Hawes is reputedly the highest market town in England and in its setting in upper Wensleydale, in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National park, commands breathtaking views of the surrounding fells.

The town and surrounding area have much of interest to the holidaymaker including the following : -

  • The Wensleydale Creamery where you can visit the museum portraying the history of real Wensleydale cheese, a Viewing gallery where you may watch real Wensleydale cheese being made,a cheese shop and a restaurant / coffee shop.
  • Hawes Ropeworks where you can watch traditional Ropemaking and see how the twist is put in !
  • Dales Countryside Museum -see how people through the ages have shaped the local landscape.
  • Hawes Market and Livestock Market every Tuesday.
  • Hardraw Force - the highest unbroken waterfall in England.
  • Aysgarth Falls where the river Ure tumbles down an impressive cascade.
  • White Scar Caves - the longest show cave in Britain including one of the largest caverns in Britain.
  • Castle Bolton - steeped in history and where Mary Queen of Scotts was imprisoned.
  • Middleham Castle - once the home of Richard III
  • Ingleton Waterfall Walk 4 1/2 miles circular walk through a designated area of special scientific interest.
  • Settle to Carlisle Railway and the Ribblehead Viaduct - Englands greatest historic scenic route.
  • Semmerwater Lake - with fishing, watersports and swimming.
  • Numerous walks on marked footpaths of various lengths and for varying abilities.
    (Hawes is also on the Pennine Way). The Yorkshire Dales cycleway passes through Hawes.
  • Nearby towns include Leyburn (with the newly re-opened Wensleydale Railway) the Historic Richmond, with Kendal the gateway to the Lake District approximately 20 Miles away, making a day trip to The Lakes a distinct possibility. Skipton with its castle and canals and Bolton Abbey - all within easy reach.

All touring pitches are serviced with individual water taps, waste water drains and 16 Amp electric hook-up points (no extra charges) The heated utility block contains wash basins, toilets, free showers,shaver points and a powerpoint for hair dryers etc.

A washing-up room and chemical toilet emptying point are also provided.

Pets are welcome but must be kept on a lead at all times and exercised off the park.
