Wing Hall
Wing Hall Estates, Station Road, Wing, Rutland. LE15 8RY.
Landline: 01572 737283 email:

Wing Hall is a Victorian Manor house set in park land within the smallest county of England, Rutland. Caravans and motorhomes are welcome alongside camping and other visitors. Electric hook ups are available togeather with the onsite facilities. The site is open all year round and we welcome long stay visitors.

Set in parkland in a rural location, our camping facilities are an ideal base for exploring the surrounding countryside and all the local attractions Rutland has to offer.

You are also welcome to bring your family pet instead of leaving them at home. On site we have a small shop for those last minute items you may have left behind and full facilities are available in our shower and toilet block.

For the keen angler we have two course fishing lakes available on site, nearby you will find Rutland Water and Eyebrook Fishing reservoirs that both offer trout fishing.

We are open all year round
with more than 200 pitches available
for camping in four different areas.

Limited electrical hook ups are available.

Besides fishing, Rutland Water offers a fully range of leisure facilities including sailing, wind surfing, cycling, golf, horse riding and bird watching. For the family day out, Rutland Water has a Butterfly & Aquatic Centre, Nature Reserve and number of open access areas for picnics.

The camping site is located on the edge of Wing village which has one public house offering a range of food with full restaurant facilities. If you fancy exploring further afield, there are public houses located in our three nearest villages and Uppingham town is only three miles away and Oakham is just five miles.

We usually require you to book on weekends and especially bank holidays but most of the time we can accommodate last minute arrivals.

Set in an acre of peaceful rural countryside, the two course fishing lakes cater for the needs of our visitors; whatever your level of expertise. Both lakes are set in natural surroundings and have islands in the middle of the waterways.

The lakes are well stocked with carp, tench, roach and crucian carp. To date, the largest fish caught in the lakes is a 27lbs carp, although this is a rumor and we have no official verification of this. On an average day, 15lbs carp are not uncommon.

No advanced bookings are necessary but we would advise contacting us just in case there is a fishing match. Most of the time we welcome you to just come along, pitch your equipment and we will come along to collect fees sometime during the day.

Camping is available on the main Wing Hall camping site if you would like to have an extended stay or we can arrange night fishing by request. Opening times are from dawn to dusk, although earlier opening times are available on request

General course fishing rules apply and are posted at the entrance to the lakes.

Perhaps the most famouse of all Trout fiseries (above) is just 8 mile from
Wing Hall. Eyebrook Trout Fishery!

Eyebrook reservoir was originally built to supply water to Corby steel works but is more famously known as the low flying practice area for RAF 617 Squadron, more commonly known as the Dambusters.

Wing Hall estates have a number of properies with accomodation availble
for private rent.

The properties range from studio flats and apartments to full size country cottages for those larger families.

There are a limited number of available properties as most people stay for a long time becuase of the piece and quiet of rural life. Half an hour by road are the cities of Peterborough and Leicester with good rail and road links to the rest of the Uk.

Island Meadow Caravan Park
Aston Cantlow, Warwickshire. B95 6JP
Telephone / Fax: 01789 488273

Island Meadow is a small secluded caravan park, set in rural Warwickshire.
The seven acre island, formed by the River Alne and its mill race, provides a
quiet and peaceful holiday setting.

Mature trees line the banks, and the mill pond with its weir offers good
coarse fishing, which is free to guests.

All areas are flat and close-mown,
and the island is a perfect centre for
bird watching, walking, cycling or just relaxing and enjoying the English countryside.

All the usual park amenities are provided, including a well-stocked, licensed shop.

There is no clubhouse or restaurant, but a short stroll through Mill Meadow and the churchyard of St. John's, where Shakespeare's parents were married brings you to the fifteenth century inn and the village of Aston Cantlow, so named after the de Cantilupe family, who settled here after the Norman conquest. In 1086 the Domesday Book valued the Mill at 8 shillings and 5 sticks of eels. Island Meadow Caravan Park is approximately 5 miles from Stratford Upon Avon.

We reserve a two acre area for touring caravans, motorhomes and trailer tents. Each of the spacious 24 pitches has a
10 amp electric hook-up.

We also accept a few tents in the
orchard and garden.

This peaceful, well sheltered island retreat offers an ideal touring centre. Stratford, Warwick, with the finest mediaeval castle in England, the Cotswolds, the cathedral city of Worcester, the Malvern Hills and the Vale of Evesham are within easy reach, as are the National Exhibition Centre and National Agricultural Centres, Birmingham, Coventry and Oxford. The region is rich in castles, palaces, stately homes and magnificent gardens.
