LONG HAZEL PARK is an Adult Only Touring and Holiday Park and is Open All Year. It is an ideal stopover and touring base to explore the West Country. It is easily accessible from the A303 for the largest motor homes

Licensed for 75 motor homes, caravans and tents, 1 Static Holiday Caravan Home and 13 Pine Lodges. Forty all-weather hardstandings with 16 amp electric hook-up and

 

complimentary hot showers. Modern, clean, winter-heated amenities with separate suite for wheelchair users. The Park is level and an easy walk from the Village Inn and Restaurant as well as the local Post Office, 24 hour Esso Garage, Spar Mini Market and McDonalds Restaurant. A regular bus service operated by South West Coaches links Sparkford with local market towns and villages, the railway station at Castle Cary (4 miles) and the Royal Bath and West Showground (10 miles).

On the Park there is a separate toilet/shower block with hot and cold water, a washing-up room with hot and cold water, chemical disposal, coin operated washing machine and tumble dryer and a waste recycling area. The Reception houses a pay phone, extensive tourist information, some camping and caravanning spares, reference maps and bus timetables.

The Park is beautifully landscaped and has picnic tables scattered around. Barbeques are allowed subject to prior permission but must not be placed
directly on to the grass.

Sparkford Village is the home of the famous Haynes International Motor Museum which holds numerous car meetings during the year. Nearby is the Royal Naval Air Station at Yeovilton which hosts an annual Air Show in July and other events. The Fleet Air Arm Museum is on the same complex. Sparkford is close to the Dorset border and the ancient market town of Sherborne with its Castle and Abbey.

The Park is midway along the Leland Trail with the Camelot Hill Fort (King Arthur’s stronghold) at South Cadbury close by. The local area is known as the Blackmoor Vale and Camelot Country with charming Saxon towns. Wincanton is the home of the unique Cunning Artificer’s Discworld Emporium. Stonehenge, Wookey Hole Caves, Cheddar Gorge, Glastonbury Tor and Abbey, Wells Cathedral, Clarks Village and the Dorset Heritage Coastline are all within easy driving distance.


We have a fully-equipped Black Forest built Pine Lodge Holiday Home fully adapted for wheelchair users and accessed by ramps. This accommodation sleeps up to five people. There is a large bedroom with a single bed and a double bed. The spacious lounge/diner seating opens up to provide an additional seven foot x five foot
bed. There is a luxury bathroom with wash-hand basin and WC and with wheelchair access to the shower tray.

An exclusive, secure and private small development on the edge of the Park is now underway offering a selection of one, two and three-bedroomed holiday lodges for sale for leisure use manufactured in the UK. Eight of the one and two bedroomed lodges are manufactured by Tingdene Homes and prices
prices start from £89,950 to include delivery, siting, furniture pack and VAT. Each Lodge has its own separate parking space and will be let on a minimum 50 year British Holiday and Home Parks Association Agreement with all year round access. Southfork Caravan Park, graded excellent by the the English Tourist Board is a small, peaceful immaculate maintained Park. Situated between the historic villages of Martock and south Petherton and set in open countryside near the River Parrett.

The site is level and part-sheltered by trees and comprises 30 touring pitches 20 of which have electric hook-up points.

Facilities Include: Clean modern shower and toilet block, heated all year round, with free hot water to showers and basins, hair dryers and shaver points (Southfork have attained the AAs Award for Excellence for their sanitation facilities). Laundry room with washing machine, dries and Ironing facilities and separate clothes-washing and dishwashing sinks, Chemical disposal point, Play area, Dog walk

Additional facilities on site are: Small provisions shop and off licence. Well equipped and comprehensive caravan/camping spares and accessories area, including sales of Calor Gas and Camping Gaz. Caravan Workshops service and repair, Caravan pressure wash and wax service.

On the Park itself there is plenty of room to just relax and enjoy the peaceful countryside, or, should you feel a little more energetic. there is an area for ball games, where the children can also play on the swings and roundabouts etc., in complete safety.

Fishing is available on the River Parrett just a few yards from the Park and local fishing permits are available from Reception

In nearby Martock and South Petherton you will find a good selection of shops, pubs for good food and ale, as well as takeaway food.

A little further afield are numerous places of interest for all age groups within easy reach: from country house and gardens to museums: from cider mills to wildlife and country parks, to mention but a few

For cyclists and walkers there are cycle routes through quiet lanes and rolling hills, as well as numerous walks “with some 1,300 miles of rights of way), including
“The Leland Trail” from King Alfreds Tower to Ham Hill.
“The Liberty Trail” from Ham Hill to Lyme Regis.
“The River Parrett Trail” tracing its source to mouth.

No matter what your interest, you will find plenty to see and do in this lovely part of Somerset, and Southfork is the ideal touring base

The Lakes are two acres each stocked with a selection of course fish including large carp up to 25lbs.

Anglers should be in possession of a current Environment Agency Rod Licence Unused bait must NOT be discarded into the water, scatter it over the bank for the birds to eat.
