Located in a very tranquil setting beside the River Braan in a scenic and beautiful part of Perthshire. It was here that carriages changed their horses. A carriage accident at Inver in 1854 killed Count Rochenstart, the last known descendant of Bonnie Prince Charlie. Inver was, most famously, the home of Neil Gow ( 1727 - 1807 ).

Dunkeld is 1 mile away (15 minute walk) and has a number of wonderful tourist attractions notably the Dunkeld Cathedral. The beautiful Hermitage and Falls are a short 10 minute walk from the park. East of Dunkeld is the Loch of the Lowes wildlife reserve where you can see Ospreys in their natural habitat.
|
|
Dunkeld also has an 18 Hole Golf Course
The course is one of the most picturesque in Perthshire with each hole affording not only a new and interesting challenge for the golfer, but also ever changing views of the glorious surrounding countryside.
|
|
The village also has antique shops and craft shops, a Bank of Scotland and Post Office along with a good selection of restaurants and bars. Dunkeld is 1 hour's drive from Edinburgh and 2 hours drive from Inverness thus its central location makes it an ideal centre to explore a large part of Scotland
The area is also rich in scenic, historic and sporting attractions catering for a wide variety of tastes to suite young and old alike. NB. If you are walking to Dunkeld please use the underpass under the A9 - it is more pleasant. |

When you need a break and a bit of tranquility head for Bruar,
Bruar is a small hamlet approximately
8 miles north west of Pitlochry
and 3 miles north west of Blair Atholl.
Not only is there a visitor centre
and toilet facilities but also the magnificent Falls of Bruar walk.
This is a relaxing and easy
"Sunday afternoon" walk ideal for
those looking for a simple stroll in
the fresh air.
This is a relatively easy walk, however, strong footwear is recommended
as the footpath can be uneven and
slippy when wet. Care should be taken
with young children as the banks are hazardous in places.

The Hermitage, by Dunkeld,
is a beautiful spot. Walking through
some of the tallest trees in Britain,
where the River Braan cascades
into a narrow gorge.
|
In season mighty salmon can be seen leaping up these falls and on upstream to their spawning grounds, a truly memorable sight. With the swirling waters of the Braan, the towering trees and squirrels and birds flitting from branch to branch it is a truly charming place
FISHING PERMITS can be obtained from Kettles of Dunkeld located on the left hand side of the main street in Dunkeld phone: 01350 727556. |

"A secluded and sheltered 'little jewel'
of a site in a small orchard under the hill called Largo Law. This very attractive site
is family owned and run to an immaculate standard, and pitches are grouped in twos and threes by low hedging and gorse.
A 1-acre site with 20 touring pitches
and 5 statics." |
|
With panoramic views to the River Forth the site is an ideal centre for golfing, walking or relaxing in and around East Fife and beyond. Ideally suited for adult caravenners and campers seeking peace and quite in a beautiful rural setting |
 |
The site is well sheltered and is set out in bays with level pitches all with electrical hook-up and welcomes tourers and tents. The site has an excellently maintained toilet facilities, a dish washing area, laundry facilities and a recreation room which houses a tv, pool table, games machine and a freezer. |
Special rates are avaliable for low season and long stays. Advanced booking is recommended during peak holiday season and bank holiday weekends.
While there are 20 Touring pitches due to 'seasonal occupancy' there will be limited availability for visting customers.
To avoid any misunderstandings we would also like to reiterate that the site is small and has no facilities for children to play. For that reason we are not accepting children under 14 years of age on either the Touring or Static areas for 2006.

Lower Largo with a safe sandy beach is

Well behaved dogs - and children - are most welcome, and for the children we have a large sandpit with plenty toys to help you dig and build. Dogs should be kept on leads around the Park, although ours sometimes set a bad example by coming across just to check out the visitors.
We have a lovely dog walk off the Park which leads to a path which goes to the Union Canal and to Almondell Country Park. This path can sometimes be muddy so do come prepared. A sheet of walks is available in Reception to help you explore around us.

 |
Our Scandinavian style amenity building offers excellent facilities including free showers and privacy cubicles. These are kept clean to the highest of standards by ourselves and our visitors and we look after them as best we can. There is also a small laundry, separate disabled shower-room and dish washing up area. |
Our small reception has plenty of tourist information to help you plan your stay - whether it is to venture into Edinburgh or to tour the area - or to travel further afield. As there are many shops and supermarkets in the area, we only have a few sweets etc. for sale, but milk, newspapers and rolls can be ordered daily.
Television reception in the Park is very good and if your TV is tuned in, Channel 5 is received too. For visitors wanting to access Broadband, the local Library in East Calder has access and our nearest wi-fi hotspot is at McDonald's, at junction1 of M9 at Newbridge.

A warm and dry alternative to camping
you still need all your camping equipment
but you no longer have to put up and
take down your tent in the wind/rain/dark
It is ideal, if you are maybe heading north
or south, and want a stopover without erecting a tent, or stay a few days in
more comfort, and visit Edinburgh and
thesurrounding area. |
|
These cosy cabins, sleep up to 4 - 3 on raised beds with another mattress on the floor between them. They are fully insulated and are also ideal for early and late in the season. There is a kettle and a small fridge and outside is a picnic table for your sole use. We therefore ask that all cooking is done outside, as the cabins are made totally of wood. |
Blair Castle Caravan Park
