Terese Muskus welcomes you to a little peace of Heaven where you can experience the wildlife and farm animals on a tranquil croft, and yet be close to many attractions and exciting places to visit.
Peter and I re-established the croft of Laikenbuie which is situated in a beautiful Hiddenglen four miles inland from Nairn in the north of Scotland. The holiday homes (lodge, cottage, chalet, caravan and campsite) overlook a loch surrounded by natural birch woods and bog meadows full of wild flowers.
|
There is now a camp site in the circle
of stones and trees for those wanting
quiet simple accommodation. The
extras include a nearby cold tap,
a turf roofed cooking shelter with
gas ring and a hole
in the ground! |

Our lodges, Treetops and Kestrel's Nest, were both carefully built to the same design and high specifications. They are large (85sq m, equivalent to a three bedroom bungalow), well insulated, double glazed, and designed for wheelchair use. They provide a warm comfortable holiday home throughout the year, combining a lovely interior with a beautiful view. They have a Four Star Scottish Tourist Board grading.
The Moray Firth has many varied geographical areas all within easy reach. From long sandy beaches, through mature woods with cascading rivers, up to the ski slopes high in the Cairngorms. The climate is usually kind with only 23in of rain and plenty of sun. There are dolphins in the sea, monsters in the loch (or so we believe), deer on the ground and eagles in the air. If you take a little time to look for these and the other birds and animals you have a good chance of success.
We are half an hours drive from Inverness and Loch Ness and just ten minutes from the sandy beaches and dolphins of the Moray Firth. There are 14 golf courses within an hour's drive, several castles and the Speyside distilleries whisky trail.
