Blenheim Palace is a large and monumental country house situated in Woodstock, Oxfordshire, England. It is the only non-episcopal country house in England to hold the title "palace". The Palace, one of England's greatest houses in every sense of the word, was built between 1705 and circa 1722. Its construction was originally intended to be a gift to the 1st Duke of Marlborough from a grateful nation in return for military triumph against the French.

Observatory Science Centre

The Royal Greenwich Observatory (RGO) was founded at Greenwich in London in 1675 by King Charles II but was moved just after the second world war in order to escape the lights and pollution of the city. The site at Herstmonceux was chosen as the most suitable in the UK. The existing telescopes were augmented in 1967 by the giant 98-inch Isaac Newton Telescope (INT). The domes, buildings and telescopes are being renovated and the centre is a major venue for exhibitions, lectures and educational programmes. Events and activities programme.

Tower of London

Begun by William the Conqueror in 1078, the Tower of London has served as a royal residence, fortress, mint, armoury and more infamously as a place of execution.

Although the Tower of London is today seen as a visitor attraction, it is also a thriving community; about 150 people still live within its walls, mainly the Yeoman Warders (or 'Beefeaters') and their families.
