The Berry Botanic Garden began as the personal collection of a remarkable plantswoman, Rae Selling Berry (1881-1976). Today, they maintain and expand this extraordinary landscape in the service of education, conservation and horticulture.

Hoyt Arboretum covers 185 ridge top acres about two miles west of downtown Portland. It is home to a collection of trees representing more than 1,100 species gathered from around the world accessed by 12 miles of trails.

The Japanese Garden is five and a half acres of traditional design that is a homage to nature. From spring's subtle flowering, through the understated greens of summer, the colour of fall and the stark beauty of winter, it's a year-round attraction.

The Portland Classical Chinese Garden is an authentically built Ming Dynasty styled garden. Covered walkways, bridges, open colonnades, pavilions and a richly planted landscape frame Zither Lake, create ever-changing views.

Historic Oregon City

Historic Oregon City is the place to discover the unexpected site of Oregon history! Walk the McLoughlin Promenade, ride the Municipal Elevator, browse for antiques and visit the Museum, End of the Oregon Trail and the Stevens Crawford Heritage House.

The National Sanctuary of Our Sorrowful Mother, a beautiful 62 acre Catholic Shrine and botanical garden, is more commonly known as "The Grotto". The Sanctuary, Chapels and grounds are administered by the Friars of the Order of Servants of Mary.

The Real Mother Goose Fine American Craft offers three Portland, Oregon gallery-shops with over 10,000 square feet of contemporary fine American craft that showcased the best American artists and craftspeople.
