LOCAL ATTRACTIONS:
Clacton-on-Sea is famous for its Victorian pier, plus 7 miles of sandy beach with a promenade stretching from Frinton to Jaywick.
Colchester Zoo has over 200 species to see, set in over 60 acres of beautiful parkland. Get closer to the animals with daily shows or you can even help feed the elephants and giraffes.
Gnome Magic. Discover over 500 gnomes and friends set in beautiful gardens.
Mistley Towers. These beautiful two towers stood by the waterside are the remains of the church designed by Robert Adam, built in 1776. It was unusual in having towers at both the east and west ends.
Colne Valley Steam Railway for a nostalgic trip through the Essex countryside.
Clacton Carnival takes place on 12th August with a procession including Marching Bands, Majorettes, floats and of course the Carnival Queen. A great weekend of fun with plenty for everyone to get involved in from fancy dress competitions to the Donkey Derby.
Country Music Festival – 24th–27th March
A toe-tapping weekend for all Country Music lovers! Performing live you can dance to Kaliber, Merv and Maria and Billy Bubba King. Look out for cabaret act Steve Travis or join in all the fun with line dancing sessions. Supported all weekend by J.T. Stepper Country Disco.
