Scarr Head is a small working farm at the foot of the Coniston mountains and just 2 miles South of Coniston village, where there is a good range of shops, hotels and restaurants
Hawkshead, Ambleside, Bowness & Windermere are easily accessible by car but if it’s peace and quiet you are looking for we are the perfect base for exploring the beautiful surrounding countryside, either on foot, by car or even on horseback – pony trekking at Crook Barn Stables – 500 yards or Spoon Hall, Coniston.

Torver has two village pubs. Both have restaurant facilities and are within 10 minutes walking distance of the farm.
Coniston lake can be reached by footpath in approximately 30 minutes and you can walk into Coniston along the lakeshore or catch the local ferry across the lake to Brantwood – home of John Ruskin.
There are also a number of spectacular walks straight out of the farmyard, such as Walna Scarr, Coniston “Old Man” and a lower level walk to Beacon Tarn. The West Cumbrian coast holds many jewels including Muncaster Castle and the narrow guage railway which runs from Ravenglass to Eskdale.

Pets: Dogs are accepted strictly by arrangement and provided they are well behaved. Under no circumstances may a dog be left alone in a caravan. Sorry No puppies

Opened in 1990, Dalston Hall's nine hole course is situated on the south west outskirts of Carlisle and can quickly be reached from junction 42 of the M6.
A 9 hole, 2700 yard course set in the valley of the river Caldew, on the fringe
of the Lake District national park, providing a dramatic backdrop.
Wildlife abounds on the course and players may well see rabbits, red squirrels, oyster catchers, herons and even deer during a round.

The Quiet Site is a family run site situated in a secluded position amongst the stunning fells that overlook Lake Ullswater.
This is a superbly maintained and very
picturesque site, the facilities being housed mainly in old converted farm buildings.
There are many beautiful walks that you can start from right outside the Quiet Site and numerous activities and attractions a very short drive away. The site is in an ideal position for touring both the North and South Lakes by car.
