Grassington and Burnsall

Grassington

Grassington is perhaps one of the most delightful market villages you
would care to visit. Centred around its small cobbled square is a selection of family-owned shops offering quality food, clothing and gifts, alongside small cosy cafes, restaurants and hotels.

If the thought of jostling with crowds of harassed shoppers in busy streets or
trying to gain access to out-of-town shopping complexes fills you with dread…………head for the Yorkshire Dales, and to Grassington in particular.
It is a picturesque place and a haven for the discerning shopper, guaranteed to lower your stress levels

The small township of Grassington has a multitude of events that take place throughout the year, The Town Hall for example plays host to a variety of
Craft Fairs and Exhibitions, but perhaps one of the most colourful can be seen
at Christmas, when the township is transported back in time to the days of
Charles Dickens, when people can be seen in traditional costume, and the
cobbled streets fills with musicians, dancers, and traditional craft stalls abound.

Experience Christmas, Shopping, History, you will never forget
the visit, which will be unlike any other.

A visit to the region would not be complete with out a visit to
Kilnsey Crag and Burnsall,

Kilnsey Crag can be found just north of Grassington the
large overhanging limestone cliff is adjacent to the main road up the valley. It is around 170 feet high with an overhang of 40 feet. Kilnsey has one pub, the Tennant Arms, a trout farm, and a small collection of houses.

Burnsall

Burnsall village is one of the Yorkshire Dales prettiest villages situated by the river wharfe famous for its beautiful views and scenery and its picturesque bridge.
Many pretty rural scenes can be seen around the village, from lambs being born and jumping around in the spring to the many traditional farming practices taking place like dry stone walling and haymaking. Fish can be seen rising from the river to take the fly, and owls and other birds of prey can be spotted hunting. One of the most picturesque picnic areas can also be found here adjacent to the bridge

Upper Wharfedale is walking in paradise - From gentle woodland and
riverbank strolls to challenging treks over the open fells, Wharfedale has it all.
