Angling & Watersports Centre

The camping area leads pretty much
right down to the lake, meaning that
it's no problem to leave your kit rigged
all night protected by the shelter of the trees, then pick it up, walk down to the water's edge and have a quick blast
before breakfast - Probably the best possible start to a da
y.

Our Education Officer is based at
the centre and can organise group visits and educational trips along with rural
skills courses and can be contacted on 01566 784981.

The campsite is ideal as a base for family holidays, with a wide variety of activities on offer plus ease of access to Devon and Cornwall’s attractions and beaches. Groups, especially school, scouts, guides and friends, will find the site ideal for activity holidays. The Lakeside Restaurant can provide packed lunches if booked in advance, and is open for lunches, drinks and snacks daily.

Opposite Lakeside is our popular Angling and Watersports Centre with facilities for brown trout angling, sailing, windsurfing, rowing, kayaking and camping. Our instructors are on hand for tuition, self launch and hire, please call the centre for further information or e-mail

The centre here is fantastic for groups and individuals wanting to enjoy the water and learn new skills. We are open daily in the summer months and reduced hours in the winter.

With peaceful angling, 8 miles of bank and plenty of inlets, angling at Roadford is very enjoyable.

Stocked with brown trout, the lake is popular for both bank and boat angling. The largest fish to be caught is a 8lb 4oz brown. Roadford also operates an optional catch and release system.

Permits can be purchased at the Angling and Watersports Centre. To guarantee a boat, advance booking on 01409 211507 is recommended. Further details on angling at Roadford Lake are available from the centre, where members of staff will be happy to help. We also have a Wheelyboat, which enables people using wheelchairs to get on the water and can be hired for half and full days.

The Trust often runs angling tuition days in conjunction with the Environment Agency. Look out for posters on site.

Tollgate Farm Caravan & Camping Park
Budnick Hill, Perranporth, Cornwall TR6 0AD
Telephone 01872 572130

email:

TOLLGATE FARM CARAVAN & CAMPING SITE is a quiet, family run site set in acres of tranquil countryside, ideally located for all of Cornwall, with easy access to both north and south coasts, the Lizard Peninsula, Land's End, and all the attractions Cornwall has to offer.

The site offers generous pitches situated within
four enclosed areas
offering
panoramic coastal views.

As we are less than 1 mile to Perranporth's shops and beach, it is only a short drive. There are also three walks to the beach ranging from 10 to 20 minutes each with spectacular views. The easiest of which can be undertaken with pushchairs and young children, ranging to the coastal path for those who enjoy more of a challenge. Two of these walks end in Perranporth town.

Ideally located for walking, Tollgate Farm neighbours sand dunes that lead to the beautiful 3 mile beach at Perran Bay where, if you love live music and good food, you'll find The Watering Hole right on the beach.

Golfers benefit from concessionary fees at Perranporth's Links Golf Course.

We are a family and couples orientated site and therefore won't admit large single sex groups. We welcome dogs and other pets, as long as they are well behaved.

For those seeking more energetic pursuits
there is a wide range of outdoor sporting activities
in the area.

Tollgate Farm is right next to Perranporth Golf Club, beautifully sited in the dunes. Perranporth beach is a popular surfing resort, and there are facilities for sailing, diving, canoeing, and many other watersports close by.

The Seiners Arms Hotel is right on the beach at Perranporth and its Restaurant and Bars are open to non-residents offering a wide choice of meals.

The city of Truro provides cultural entertainment, and the towns of Newquay, Falmouth, St Ives, Penzance and St Austell are all nearby, offering a wide choice of restaurants, pubs and entertainment. Or for quiet evenings visit some of the many coastal villages on both the north and south coasts.

We highly recommend the Pandora Inn, near Falmouth, which offers a superb range of drinks, bar meals, a restaurant, and in the summer months Cornish Cream Teas, and also the Smuggler's Den Inn at Cubert, only a mile and a half away, which serves fabulous seafood and prime quality steaks, and is renowned for its real ales, fine wines and the friendliness of its local regular customers.
