Ayr Holiday Park is the only Holiday Park in St. Ives itself, less than 1/2 mile from the beaches, town centre and harbour. All the attractions of this leading Cornish resort are within walking distance and buses regularly pass from the town centre
With a comfortable, well designed holiday home most people do little actual 'catering', preferring to sample the local restaurants or pubs where a variety of excellent food is available. No set meal-times and the choice of menu is your own - a real bonus with children. You can come and go as you please and on your return
|
The main touring park has pitches
for tents, motor-caravans and touring caravans. There are excellent views over
the sea from most pitches and although
the field is naturally sloping, there are
areas of level terracing.
Almost all pitches have an electric
hook-up (16 amp), a tap and drain.
The shower and toilet block is kept
clean and maintained to a very high standard. Services such as showers,
hot water, hair dryers, shaver points, etc. are all free.
There are also dishwashing sinks and a chemical toilet disposal point, plus a waste and water point for motor-caravans.
|
|
We have a well equipped launderette, and although there is no shop on the Park the nearest local shops are 300-400 yards away. There is a games room and childrens' playground, and direct access to the coastal footpath through our own fields which can be used for ball games, kite flying or just relaxing.
St. Ives is a first class resort with safe, sandy beaches, beautiful scenery and a unique character which permeates the narrow, winding streets. At the heart of the town is the harbour, which has been a safe haven for fishermen and their boats for centuries. It is still the focal point of town, around which everything else has grown.
|
 |
Today, the main attraction of St. Ives is
the golden sandy beaches which provide endless fun for children, and safe bathing
for all the family.
There is, however, a great deal more for
the discerning holidaymaker. Golf, Boating, Walks, Great Restaurants, Pubs,
Bird Watching, Art, Surfing, Shopping, Antiques, Family Attractions.
So much to fill every day.

Once part of a Royal Hunting ground, Kings Down Tail is now home to a more tranquil form of leisure. Ian and Sue McKenzie-Edwards are your hosts for what we hope will be a relaxing stay.
Ideally centrally situated in the heart of East Devon, all of its unspoiled coast and countryside is yours to explore. We are close to the Regency town of Sidmouth which is a fine example of East Devon's coastal resorts.

The park is set in five acres of level
ground and sheltered by mature trees.

three miles east of Sidmouth offering
easy access.

The park's proximity to East Devon's stunning Heritage coastline is a major advantage. As well as its great scenic beauty this part of the coast is now England's only coastal World Heritage Site. It stretches from Exmouth in the west to Studland, in Dorset in the east. Rock formations from the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous geological ages are encompassed in the site,
This outstanding geology was the reason for granting World Heritage Status, ranking alongside the worlds other great natural wonders. You will travel in time through 185 million years of the earth's history in 95 miles of coast.
