Nestling in a woodland valley, surrounded by mature woodland Ninham provides a unique country setting for lovers of the outdoors.
From this secluded location, all the attractions of the seaside can be found just a few minutes away at Shanklin, the Isle of Wight's premier resort. Land or sea, Ninham is the perfect starting point for touring and discovering the many sights and attractions of the Island. In fact, you don't even have to leave the Park to start exploring. Various footpaths and bridle-ways lead from the park providing delightful walks and cycle routes to some of the Island's most scenic countryside.

The low density of allocated pitches
and the landscaped area generally
has always been the main attribute of
our touring Park. In addition, the large
spacious pitches around the perimeter
of landscaped paddocks caters for the majority of modern units ranging from mammoth dome tent, twin axle tourer
to American RV.
There are two touring Parks set either
side of the wooded valley at Ninham.
The newer Park is open full season and provides easy highway access for all
types of vehicles.

It is also ideal for the family camper who require adjacent pitches and room for gazebos, pup tents etc. There are smaller pitches for back-packers and cyclists or conversely space for the large leisure units. All-service and super pitches available.
Whether a campervan or an American RV we have pitch sizes to suit. Pitches are level with electric hook-ups and there is a central motor-home 'dump station' and water point. Refuelling and stocking of food supplies can be carried out at the nearby superstores.

Ninham also has coarse fishing.
Mountain bikes can be hired locally
Bridleways lead off from Ninham to woodlands, the Downs and the Island's extensive footpath/cycle network.

Shanklin shares the bay with Sandown but although it has all the seaside resort amenities it has a quieter ambiance about it. Shanklin is made up of three parts - the seafront, the shops, and the 'Olde Village'. The seafront can be reached by a lift in the steep cliffs and offers a sandy beach bordered to the south by the Fisherman's Cottage, a lovely thatched pub on the beach and nearby Shanklin Chine.
The Chine is a fissure in the cliffs stretching into the land. and is well worth a visit as a walk down the winding path through the trees ferns and waterfall is magical. |

At the head of the Chine you are now in Shanklin's Olde Village, a collection of beautiful thatched cottages with lovely
tea gardens.

There are many walks around Shanklin including America Wood which is adjcant to Ninham Holidays. Many paths climb St Boniface Down to Ventnor and Wroxall. There is also an undercliff path to Sandown beside the beach. |

now used as a TV/Games Room. The attached cow byre was converted into the parks reception. |
Landscaping has provided the park with 60 sheltered pitches all with hard road access and electrical hookup. Individual secluded super pitches are available with water mains drainage and electricity.
We welcome tents , motorhomes , touring caravans and trailer tents.
The fully tiled toilet block has individual cubicles in the ladies for extra privacy. The spacious showers have ample room to change etc and accept 20p coins.
Dogs on leads are welcomed and from your spacious pitch you can venture into the countryside on many walks surrounding the park.

of interest, beaches and countryside activities that the island has to offer
A freezer pack exchange is available
using our ice packs. We stock camping
and calor gas.

A splendid out of town supermarket and petrol station is only a 1/4 mile away.
A 5-minute drive will bring you to either Sandown or Shanklin with their lovely sandy beaches and seaside entertainment.
To make things easier for you we can arrange a complete package including ferry and camping fees from either Southampton, Portsmouth or Lymington

LOCAL ATTRACTIONS:
Amazon World. The island’s largest exotic animal park housed in natural rainforest surroundings. Look out for the crocodiles, parrots and snakes!
Carisbrooke Castle, once the prison of King Charles I.
Osborne House near Cowes was Queen Victoria’s island retreat and featured in the film ‘Mrs. Brown’.
Blackgang Chine Fantasy Park. Set in over 40 acres of spectacular cliff-top gardens - you will find a magical mix of fantasy, legend and heritage.
Godshill includes the famous Model Village, a Natural History Centre, the Nostalgia Toy Museum and the Old Smithy.
Tiger & Big Cat Sanctuary. Visit the fascinating collection of rare and endangered animals, including tigers, panthers, pumas & leopards.
Appuldurcombe House. The shell of this once grand house stands in magnificent grounds, and includes the Owl and Falconry Centre featuring vultures, hawks, buzzards, owls and the recently introduced American bald eagle.
Shanklin Chine. Meander down the path through the wooded gorge to the sandy beach below.
Smuggling Museum in the underground vaults of Ventnor’s Botanic Gardens shows devious smuggling methods over the last 700 years.
Walking Festival 6th – 21st May. A fortnight of walks to suit all abilities taking in the stunning scenery on the Island. Over 180 themed walks for those wanting to exercise their imagination as well as their legs.

Chine Farm
Camping Site is situated on the south side of the Isle of Wight at Cowleaze
Chine, which is mid-way between Chale (3 miles) and Brighstone
(2.5 miles) on the A3055 coast road - the Military Road.

is reached by a short footpath

and has 80 to 100 pitches available for tents, caravans and dormobiles.

The area is excellent for
sea fishing. We are about half a mile from the Dinosaur Farm
Museum which was the HQ for BBC's "Live from Dinosaur Island"
programmes. The Dinosaur Farm also has a tea room.
The local village of Brighstone
is approximately two miles away and has shops for all your general
needs plus a public house.
Dogs are permitted, provided
they are kept on a lead and exercised away from the camp site. |
