In 1805 Lewis and Clark, along with the Nez Perce Indians, stopped to make 5 dugout canoes to float to the Pacific Ocean. Story has it that the actual trees that were used for their canoes were located on the very site of this campground.

Having retired as an Army Colonel with in excess of thirty-two years in uniform, it has been our dream to own and operate an RV Park. The name “Landing Zone” was chosen because of our affiliation with the Army Aviation and obtaining the distinction of “Master Army Aviator”. In addition to Aviation, we completed many years in “Combat Engineer” units where we learned to work hard, complete tasks on time and not to be afraid to get dirty. You will notice a military flare to our park. We think that you will enjoy it and, besides, we are too old to learn to speak civilian!

Our RV sites are called pads to mirror helicopter touchdown pads within the Landing Zone. These pads are named after family and friends. Intermountain RV Camp - Wendell, ID
Intermountain Motor Homes and RV Park is located near Wendell, Idaho along Interstate I-84. Situated between exits 155 and 157 less then 1 mile apart. Easy access from the east or the west.

Wendell, considered the Hub City of Magic Valley is central to many points of interest. Balanced Rock, Malad Gorge, Shoshone Falls, Thousand Springs, Niagara Springs, Mammoth Cave, Shoshone Ice Caves, Hagerman Horse fossil beds and the world’s largest trout farm.

Take a day trip and visit Sun Valley and Craters of the Moon National Monument. Take a white water rafting trip down the Snake River or enjoy a scenic bout trip with dinner. Enjoy a private hot bath in natural hot water. Three hot springs bathing and swimming facilities located near by.

Go fishing for trout or bass. Try one of the great golf courses in the area or Visit Beautiful Thousand Springs Nature Conservancy.

Buffalo Run Campground and RV Park is a full service park on 10 acres. We have 5 cabins that sleeps six, have full service kitchens, satellite TV, coffee pot, and plenty of hot water for showers.

There are 42 camping sites which have water and electric. 18 of those have water, electric, and sewer. We also have numerous tent sites. We are surrounded by the Targhee National Forest which is centered among beautiful mountains, streams, rivers, and trails
